William Ogletree, Patriot of the Revolutionary War, was born January 18, 1765 in Virginia. William married Mary Bird in 1788 at Wilkes Co., Georgia.. His service during the Revolutionary War was with the Militia in the state of Georgia. He died in Monroe County Georgia on July 29,1835.

DAR members are mothers, professionals, educators, students, historians, genealogists, homemakers, and more! With almost 3,000 chapters throughout the world, and with over 165,000 members, DAR is one of the largest women’s organizations in the world.
Any woman is eligible for membership who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence.
