Alexander McClaran, son of Daniel and Catherine McClaran, was born in 1754 in North Carolina. He was married to Jane (Duke), c. 1791.
He resided at the Salisbury District, Guilford County, North Carolina during the American Revolution and assisted in establishing American Independence while acting in the capacity of Patriotic Service for the state of North Carolina. His pay for services rendered was with North Carolina Revolutionary War Pay Vouchers.
Alexander McClaran died in Williamson County, Tennessee in July 1816, and is buried on the McClaran Farm, in Williamson County, Tennessee. His gravesite is unlocated. Child: Daniel Clevins McClaran
